ESA BIC Bavaria alumni Building Radar is starring in the European Commission’s Copernicus Programme video “Copernicus for Entrepreneurs and Developers: Using Satellite Imagery in the Sales Process”. Building Radar provides a global, satellite-based online search engine for new construction projects based on the use of sentinel 2 satellite images from the optical sentinel satellite. This innovative solution opens new doors for the use of precision satellite imagery worldwide as the team is able identify new building projects as well as the progress of construction.
Two years ago, Building Radar was incubated at ESA BIC Bavaria and was chosen as the overall winner of the Copernicus Masters 2015 competition as well as the ESA Space App Camp. All three initiatives are managed by AZO Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen.

ESA Business Incubation Centre Bavaria
The ESA BIC Bavaria seeks entrepreneurs who use space technologies in a non-space environment. That does not mean rocket science, but applies to multiple fields of application such as navigation and positioning, communications techniques, Earth observation, materials, processes, signals and robotics.
Established 2002 in Bavaria as the first European space incubator, AZO Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen has been managing ESA Business Incubation Centre (BIC) Bavaria since 2009 with financial support from the Bavarian Ministry of Economics and its first-class partners: European Space Agency (ESA), German Aerospace Center (DLR), Airbus, Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS and KSK München Starnberg Ebersberg. At the three Bavarian locations, Oberpfaffenhofen, Ottobrunn and Nuremberg, startups highly benefit from the direct access to space technologies, expert advice and technical facilities. The incubation programme provides a comprehensive support programme, from financing to research and development, all the way through to market entry.
ESA BIC Bavaria has four selection rounds each year. The next application deadline for the incubation programme is 2 March 2018. Apply now for ESA BIC Bavaria
