Our three ESA BIC Bavaria startups Kumovis, Qolware und reFit Systems exhibited at the Arab Health last week in Dubai. The Arab Health Exhibition and Congress – the largest medical exhibition and conference in the Middle East – took place from 29th of January until 1st of February. Here is a short description of what our high-tech startups do:
Kumovis GmbH
Kumovis enables the fabrication of individualized implants and other customized medical products. Using 3D printing technology based on fused filament fabrication (FFF), the company offers economic processing that is specially optimized for high-performance plastics and medical products.
Qolware GmbH
Qolware provides applications for mobile and wearable devices to detect health emergency situations and changes in everyday behaviour while assessing the risk of decline. Its solution gives chronic patients and seniors the individual, proactive support they need to live more independently and take back control of their health.
reFit Systems
reFit Systems wants to bring rehabilitation to the next level. By combining modern software technology, motivational video games, and cutting-edge monitoring and analysis tools, we are developing a modular platform for the rehabilitation of patients with movement disorders.
All three startups joined the ESA BIC network last year.
The ESA BIC Bavaria seeks entrepreneurs using space technologies in a non-space environment. That does not mean rocket science, but applies to multiple application fields such as navigation and positioning, communications techniques, Earth observation, materials, processes, signals or robotics.
