Students Develop Automatic Charging Station for Electric Aircraft at Lilium

Four students of Munich University of Applied Sciences developed an automatic charging station for electric aircraft during a project with Lilium. The device enables easy charging without manual interventions. As soon as the electric aircraft is in park position, the plug connects the aircraft to the charger. This innovative project was realised in collaboration with Lilium GmbH, one of the ESA Business Incubation Centre (BIC) Bavaria network’s high-flying startups.

On its way to revolutionise the mobility sector, the ESA BIC Bavaria alumni has already successfully accomplished flight tests with its first zero-emission electric plane.

Lilium joined the ESA BIC Bavaria in Oberpfaffenhofen from February 2015 until January 2017.
