Last week, the ESA BIC Bavaria incubatee Stecnius exhibited at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the world’s largest congress for the mobile industry. Stecnius developed a smart mirror called Solos. It offers sensors to detect the execution of an exercise, giving the user instant real-time feedback by measuring heartbeat and tracking movements. All movements are recognised, analysed and directly displayed as visual feedback with gradual suggestions for improvement. The personal assistant prevents injuries by using 3D cameras and radar chips from Infineon Technologies AG. Stecnius’ solution is designed to motivate people to maintain a healthier lifestyle and be active by knowing how to improve their training.
The first goal of the startup is to revolutionise gyms and physiotherapy clinics. Next, Stecnius plans to extend its system to other sports, such as dancing and boxing. As a final step, Stecnius wants to bring Solos into users’ homes to help them stay in shape and live healthier lifes.
