ESA BIC Bavaria incubatee ATR Elements, recognized as the second winner of the PHOTONICS Award last week at the Laser World of Photonics in Munich.
The PHOTONICS Award competition assigns the most innovative technology solutions in the exemplary categories of Imaging / Sensors, Test & Measurement, Lasers & laser systems for production engineering and Biophotonics & Medical engineering.
ATR infrared spectroscopy is a widely used technology to analyze samples of various kinds. Blood analysis using IR spectroscopy is a major subject in current research. Protein analysis using IR spectroscopy suffers from low sensitivity and functionalisation of crystals is expensive and time consuming.
ATR Elements,on its way to revolutionise the sample carrier market, replaces the costly and integrated ATR crystal with a novel inexpensive, interchangeable and sensitive sample carrier.

ATR Elements joined the ESA Business Incubation Centre Bavaria in June 2017.
